How amazing it is having a guide like Apollodorus of Damascus explain the ingenious architecture of the Pantheon he designed 2000 years ago to honour all the gods of Rome! He shows them the columns from Egypt at the shaded north. Inside, sunlight shines through a circular opening at the top of the dome, lighting different parts of the walls as the day progresses. A drain was built to collect the rainwater that fell through the opening.
