A huge battle between Beanie and Admiral Bubbles in the kitchen results in the destruction of the oven. When Mom discovers this, she decides to use the money she was saving to buy a new bed to buy an oven instead. Meanwhile, the goldfish has secretly finished building his latest device: the "Frightenator", a ray-like device that drives people mad with fear. Beanie gets an idea to enter Admiral Bubbles in a televised pet-trick contest to win prize money, and Admiral Bubbles realizes that he can use the opportunity to let loose his Frightenator on television. At the studio, a crazed sushi chef hears Admiral Bubbles talking, and sees his chance to finally make the fabled "Babbling Fish Teriyaki". Beanie ends up accidentally winning on a game show that he stumbles through. The sushi chef captures Admiral Bubbles and is saved by the intervention of Beanie, who uses the Goldfish's device to render the sushi chef crazed with fear. As the chef is taken away by hospital workers, Beanie is told that his brief appearance on the game show has won him the grand prize: a new bed for his mom.
