Mati and Dada meet French artist Henri Matisse who liked to play with colours, space, and shapes. When he displayed his painting ‘Woman with a Hat’, people called his art “fauve” – crazy! Large hats were all the fashion at the time, and he used unrealistic colours to generate feeling. The objects in his ‘Still Life with Eggplants’ are in a pattern of equal balance. He called his coloured paper cut-outs “drawing with scissors” and he arranged them on canvas until they please him. ‘The Sorrows of the King’ is one of his famous cut-out collages.

Seven-year old Mati is a cheerful girl with a wild imagination and a zesty passion for art. Along with her eccentric sidekick Dada, she’s magically transported into the lives of the greatest artists in history.

Together, these two friends go on exciting adventures with the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. Hand in hand, they travel throughout time and art, solving mysteries and sometimes getting into trouble ~ all the while learning from the Masters themselves.
