At a southwestern Apache reservation artist Doug Miles, Sr. bought and painted skateboards to give to outsider kids on the rez. Skateboarding helps them develop determination and gain positive hope.

At the Trappers’ Festival in The Pas Manitoba, both indigenous and non-indigenous competitors vie for the King Trapper title. They compete in 22 events including axe throwing, log throwing, leg wrestling, fire building, snowshoe racing, and flour packing. Indigenous people are great competitors and enjoy play.
