On June 6, 1944 – D-Day – three Allied Armies, the American, British, and Canadian, land on the beaches of Nazi-occupied Normandy.  But the fight is just beginning: the next day German Panzer – or armored – Divisions counter-attack, bending, but not breaking, the Canadian and Allied Line. Casualties are heavy and in the days following more than 120 Canadians, taken prisoner, are murdered in cold blood.
