All I Remember follows Leontine, a young survivor of the Rwandan genocide, as she takes her story public for the first time. Leontine was only six years old when she lost her family to the Rwandan genocide and in her twenty’s when she felt ready to use her experiences to build understanding about what it means to be a refugee in Montreal. Over a three-year period, Leontine along with Ayanda and Stephanie of the Mapping Memories participatory media project, tour schools in the Montreal area and grapples with the complexity of addressing genocide and human rights with high school students.
Leontine was part of the participatory oral history project, Life Stories of Montrealers Displaced by War, Genocide and Human Rights Violations that involved over four hundred participants over a six-year period. This short film explores questions regarding history, memory and the complexity of addressing genocide and human rights with high school students.
