This short documentary follows Mi'kmaw poet, published author, educator and activist Rebecca Thomas on a journey to reclaim her language. Despite using words for a living, she can't speak the language stolen from her father at a residential school. Thomas is from Lennox Island, and is based in Nova Scotia. She was the Halifax poet laureate from 2016 to 2018.
Stephanie Joline is an award winning Inuit writer and film director and a Nova Scotia Community College graduate.
