This program introduces students to the science of flight and aerodynamics. Once students understand the properties of air, they begin to look at how air makes flight possible. For thousands of years, humans dreamed of flying, but it isn't as easy as birds make it look. Students now learn about lift, gravity, thrust and drag -- the four forces that make it possible for an airplane to fly. Our two hosts also examine Bernoulli's Principle, Newton's Third Law of Motion, the Angle of Attack, natural and man-made objects that use airfoils and how a pilot controls his airplane.
