This 3 part series will provide students with an excellent understanding of the study of rocks and minerals. By examining different types of rocks and minerals found in the earth’s crust, students will learn that the unique characteristics and properties of rocks and minerals are a result of how they were formed. Important concepts such as the rock cycle, the three main types of rocks and the key elements of minerals are examined. The series also introduces landforms along with the concepts of plate tectonics, erosion and weathering.
