This drama is based on the play "Death in the Afternoon', Part 3 of "The Hemingway Monologues" by Canadian actor and playwright, Brian Gordon Sinclair. It begins with a brawl at Sloppy Joe's Bar in Key West, the town where Hemingway was able to enjoy sport-fishing and low cost living during the Depression. Few people there knew or cared that he was a writer. We see Hemingway enjoy the bars in Key West, solve the problem of tourists seeking his autograph, deal with his emotions after his father's suicide, survive a 3-day abandonment in the Dry Tortugas, save his son from a shark attack, bemoan the bankruptcy of his town and mourn the tragic deaths resulting from the devastating hurricane of 1935.
