Half of the world's fresh water is in Canadian lakes. The most spectacular are the Great Lakes. The greatest of which is Lake Superior. If it were drained it would cover North And South America in 60 centimeters of water.
In Nova Scotia, Bras Dor Lake is so beautiful that when the inventor of the telephone Alexander Graham Bell discovered it, he decided it would be his home. He lived there for all of his adult life and he and his wife are both buried on its' shore.
Lake Winnipeg is a shallow lake and for that reason very dangerous. This was quickly discovered by the huge number of Icelanders who came to this lake to escape the blight of their homeland.
