Derek Miller sits down with Gordie Sampson, a Canadian singer-songwriter who has written for the giants of country music. Gordie began his career playing with Ashley MacIsaac and Rita MacNeil, then he discovered song writing and landed in Nashville, winning a Grammy. He writes prolifically, mentors other musicians, and sometimes performs. Writing a song for Gordie starts with a title. Every summer he and his family return home to Cape Breton where family and traditional ceilidhs recharge his creative batteries.
