Black history has long used song to share the stories of struggle and celebration. Vocalists Jackie Richardson and Shakura S'Aida perform "Black is the Colour of my True Love's Hair". Shakura also discusses The Nina Project, a tribute to Nina Simone. Few jazz vocalists have remained as relevant across generations as Nina Simone. Her music is still played in its original form, in dance/house tracks and everything in between. Her music became synonymous with the civil rights movement.
