In the last year of World War II, two gigantic armies charge across northern Europe to take Berlin and defeat the Nazis. On one side there's the Soviet Red Army, on the other the Western Allies, including the United States, Britain and Canada. 700 miles separate each of them from victory. The starting gun fires and the race is on.

Never before or since has the world seen such huge armies on the march, or so many weapons fired. The sheer scale of the conflict is mind-boggling, and the numbers are off the scale. But of all the millions of lives at stake, each and every individual has a story to tell.
