For many Indigenous peoples Raven is revered but is also known as a trickster. Shayla visits Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island, to learn about their rare white ravens, the result of a genetic abnormality – they are leucistic rather than albino. She learns about their behaviour, their social and health problems.

Haida artist April White describes the raven as the most important being in Haida stories. We see some stunning white raven photographs taken by avian photojournalist Mike Yip. Doc concludes with a legend “Birds of a Different Feather” about a white-feathered raven who released light to the world, turning his feathers black in the process.
