INDIGENOUS DAY LIVE is the world’s premier celebration of the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people. The 2018 celebration showcased indigenous musicians performing on three live stages: Ottawa, Toronto, and Winnipeg. This video features performances by:

  • Julian Taylor, whose mother’s family is Mohawk from Kahnawake, plays roots oriented folk and soul;
  • Brooke Simpson from North Carolina is a full-blood member of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe;
  • Winnipeg band, Oh My Darling’s music is a melting pot of country, bluegrass, and Francophone-Métis influences;
  • From Northeastern Quebec, Shauit performs in Creole, French, English, and Innu
  • The finale is a performance by Julian Taylor with Brooke Simpson
