The youth get their workout today as they learn some jigging moves from Sagkeeng’s Finest, a Manitoba award-winning Indigenous dance troupe. The dancers talk about the importance of learning their cultural traditions and why they like to dance. At their first weigh-in they talk about diet, exercise, and changing lifestyles on their weight loss journeys. Then they learn some exercises that can be done anywhere, and talk about healthy lifestyle choices.
Fit First: Youth Edition follows four Aboriginal youth from different walks of life, who all struggle with being overweight but have set a goal to get healthy in mind, body and spirit.
