Canadian sculptor, Victor Cicansky’s body of work, from the 1960s to present includes surrealist pieces, early experimental Funk sculptures, ceramic Mason jars, and bronze bonsai trees. Cicansky’s innovative works in clay are inspired by the plants and trees in his garden and the backyard gardens of his childhood in Saskatchewan. His idiosyncratic works push the boundaries of clay and incorporate his Romanian-Canadian working class roots.
