Sudbury, Ontario is reportedly the only Canadian city to be mentioned on the moon. That's because this northern Ontario city helped NASA astronauts unpack some mysteries on the lunar surface. The impact crater surface in Sudbury is very similar to craters on the moon, so astronauts did geological training here. This led to Sudbury becoming a place of extensive scientific research. It now has a major physics research lab two km underground and it is renowned for its regreening project. The coming decades are going to bring major growth for space exploration, and Sudbury has a lot more to teach us.
