A fire started on the night of April 10, 1734. By the early hours of the morning, half of Montreal had been destroyed. Marie-Josèphe-Angélique, a young Black slave, was accused of setting the fire despite the lack of evidence against her and sentenced to death by hanging. Fire and Fury looks at the story of Angélique through the eyes of 3 people who knew her. Each sheds a very different light on the woman. Based on a true historical event.
