Six Primrose will spark dialogue about food security, strengths-based engagement and community development & health, inspiring actions and collaborations to make healthy, affordable food available for all.
This documentary film celebrates community spirit and the individuals that make The North Grove* a vibrant and essential part of the neighbourhood.
Through a 'strengths-first' approach the Food Centre increases access to healthy food for low-income Canadians while proving that food can be a transformative force in our communities.
A daily stream of people come in through the door for a cup of coffee or a meal and to share their knowledge and learn new things. They volunteer in the kitchen, act as peer advocates, and grow food on the urban farm. More people come every day.
Merit Award – Awareness Festival
"Six Primrose is a testament to the power food has to build health, community, and hope, and the power documentary filmmakers have to raise awareness of important issues and mobilize people to action." – Nick Saul, President and CEO, Community Food Centres Canada
