Two and a half million acres were set aside in 1907 as Jasper National Park. Officials with headquarters in the town of Jasper maintain the park and restock the rivers and lakes with trout. In addition to the interesting animal life and the beautiful alpine flowers, there are various activities such as fishing, mountain-climbing and trail-riding.
