Elizabeth Goudie of Happy Valley, Labrador, explores the many facets of development in her native region. Through the story of her life and that of her children, the audience gains an insight into the enormous changes that have taken place in Labrador since World War II. We meet two of her sons: Horace, who followed in the footsteps of his father to become a trapper, and his younger brother, Joseph, who chose a life in politics and was elected to the Newfoundland House of Assembly.
