Fireball Flames Down in BC.  Sunlight, Sunset in Seconds. Fireball Panics South-Central BC were only just a few of the newspaper headlines on April 1, 1965. This was no April Fool’s joke. The night before, there was a brilliant flash, a thunderous roar and windows rattled. A commercial air pilot flying to Vancouver said a flash as bright as sunlight lit his cockpit. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and other authorities reported people running from their houses thinking that World War Three had started.

The blast was over Revelstoke, British Columbia, and is referred to as the Revelstoke Event. Reports of the day suggested that it was actually an American spy satellite decaying in orbit. Others even proposed that it was an Unidentified Flying Saucer explosion. Is there a more conservative explanation?

Unexplained Canada examines the fact, fiction and possible folly of some our nation’s mysteries. Rather than viewing a mystery with total belief or attempting to debunk it, Unexplained Canada presents many perspectives to encourage viewers to draw their own conclusions.
