Albert Leong is the last resident in Lethbridge’s Chinatown, a city of 100,000 in southwestern Alberta where Chinatown was once a thriving community of hard-working immigrants. Born in the basement of his father's store, the Bow-On-Tong Company, Albert is the 4th youngest of 23 children from his father and his three wives. Alone in Chinatown explores the rich history of Chinatown in Lethbridge and looks at the present-day situation for this, and smaller communities in western Canada, places where Chinese immigrants ran restaurants, laundries and grocery stores. Now, their imprint has been filled in and paved over, their presence all but forgotten.
