Canada's most famous warship, the last of the Tribal Class Destroyers, first went into action in World War II. Her battle honours include service in the Arctic and in Europe, notably as part of the D-Day offensive, and later in the Korean War. Crew members recount those days in vivid detail, seeking to avenge the sinking of sister ship, the HMCS Athabaska, destroying enemy rail systems in Korea, rescuing Americans flyers from a crashed B-29 aircraft off the coast of Bermuda. Having never lost a battle, the Haida sank more enemy tonnage than any other ship in the Royal Canadian Navy. Technologically, she represented the most advanced naval architecture, marine propulsion systems, and maritime weapons of her day.
