March 8th 2021 marks one year since Canada's first death from COVID-19, a senior in a long-term care facility in British Columbia. Since then 55 per cent of all deaths have been long-term care residents. It has been described as a senicide: the killing of the elderly or their abandonment to death.
W5's Avery Haines speaks with Devora Greenspan, who spent the last year living in isolation at a long-term care home in Toronto. COVID-19 has pushed Canada's health care workers to the limit, but health officials are warning of even deadlier threats still to come.
