W5 investigates the harsh reality some female Canadian police officers face in the workplace and the toxic, sexist and racist environment among colleagues. Avery Haines also speaks to Angelina Rivers, one of the plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit against the Waterloo Regional Police services. Calgary police officer, Jen Magnus, shares how she confronted alleged bullying and harassment on the job, and the results of speaking up which led to her resignation. She is now doing academic research on the systemic sexism found in police cultures. There is hope that the new Calgary police chief will bring about some changes.
