In late October 2016, police charged former Ontario nurse Elizabeth Tracy Mae Wettlaufer with eight counts of first-degree murder.

The alleged victims died between 2007 and 2014: James Silcox, Maurice Granat, Gladys Millard, Helen Matheson, Mary Zurawinski, Helen Young, Maureen Pickering and Arpad Horvath.

They were residents of two nursing homes at the time of their deaths: Caressant Care in Woodstock and Meadow Park in London.

W5's Sandie Rinaldo sat down with family members and friends of four of the alleged victims to hear their stories of reliving grief and dealing with the prospect that their loved ones’ lives were cut short: Mo Granat’s close friends Laura Jackson and Don Martin; Helen Matheson’s son Jon and his wife Patricia Houde-Matheson, James Silcox’s daughter Andrea and Arpad Horvath’s daughter Susan.
