Humans blink roughly once every 3 seconds. Someone attempts suicide once every 3 seconds. In this program, TSN Off the Record host Michael Landsberg, looks back on the life of canoeist and three-time Canadian Olympian John Wood, who took his own life in January 2013 after a battle with depression. The program includes photos from John’s family album and his 1976 Olympic Silver Medal win, clips from the film PADDLES UP!, and comments by business associate Laurie Davis and paddling colleagues Larry Cain, Adam van Koeverden and Wolf Ruck. John Wood’s son and daughter speak publicly for the first time since the death of their dad and shed light on how they have tried to deal with the tragedy.
