Laurie Gaucher and Wendy Big Charles, two Cree Canadians from Alberta overcome unimaginable obstacles to climb to the roof of Africa. Their "Ascent of the Aboriginal Spirit Expedition" is a commitment to climb the highest mountain on each of the seven continents. They take their inspirational message to students around the country, stressing the importance of following your dreams and accomplishing your goals no matter how difficult. Coping with a healing broken ankle and altitude sickness, Laurie has to turn back, but Wendy struggles to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro where she scatters some traditional herbs and says a prayer.
