Swaziland is one of the smallest countries in Africa, and with the exception of Mozambique on its Eastern border, it is entirely surrounded by South Africa. Despite its size, this tiny nation has a collection of wildlife that can rival all other safari trails of the nearby destinations. Not only does it boast 'Big 5' status, some 132 species of mammal have been recorded here. Giraffe, hippo, zebra and a variety of antelope can be found across the country, as well as predators such as jackals and hyenas. Deep in the heart of Swaziland, a wild kingdom of riverine forests and endless savanna is found. From dominant elephant herds to tiny dung beetles, a number of diverse keystone species are shaping a vibrant ecosystem.
