A medicine wheel is an archaeological configuration of a stone circle, cairn and spokes which point to the four cardinal directions. They are found across North America’s plains, and have memorial, ceremonial, and astrological significance. Shayla visits the Royal Alberta Museum exhibit on the sacred wheels and learns about the varied forms. She visits the Nose Hill Medicine Wheel and then learns about Blackfoot teachings behind medicine wheels from Kanai Blood Reserve archeologist Blair First Rider. A fire ban keeps her from visiting the 4500-year-old Majorville medicine wheel. Doc concludes with a Sacred Circles story.
