It has been named the world’s “greenest” paper manufacturer because of its environmentally friendly practices. They also take pride in their sustainable water and waste management. * Mountain Equipment Co-op is a co-operative with a drive for community involvement, respect for the environment, and a reduced ecological footprint. Specializing in outdoor equipment, it has become the largest retail co-operative in the country. * Montreal’s Interuniversity Research Centre for the Life Cycle of Products, Processes and Services (CIRAIG) has faculty who work together to develop expertise in sustainable development techniques, the life cycle of a product in the consumption chainm and managing the environmental impacts of a product from start to finish.
