Intensive farming, unsustainable forestry methods and industrial fishing have seriously depleted the resources of our planet. We have attempted to dominate the world so much that we have hindered its development. However, it is possible to gently reap the benefits of our planet’s resources without damaging it.
* Marc Chiasson, a former chemical engineer, launched the Verger Familial C.R. project, an orchard in Magog, Quebec. Aiming to use as few pesticides as possible, it was critical that he understand his orchard’s ecosystem.
* Léonard Otis has devoted his life to defending forests and the interests of forest owners throughout the province of Quebec. He sees forests as a precious resource and is the author of ‘Une forêt pour vivre’, a book detailing his views on forest development and conservation.
* Beau Gillis, from Freeport, Nova Scotia, does not take marine resources for granted. He is committed to reintroducing sustainable fishing practices in the village where he was born. Also available in French: Jardiner la Terre
