Revolutionizing the world is an ambitious project to say the least, and our dream will only become reality if we are willing to take things one step at a time. More and more people agree that we must act locally to create a global impact. However, in order to change people’s mentalities and habits, we need to head off the beaten track and look for ‘visionary ideas’. Architects of Change featured: * Harvey Locke, Calgary, Alberta, developed an interest in the environment and charity work and became active in the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society. (CPAWS). Locke was recognized by Time Magazine Canada for his involvement in the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative. * Sidney Ribaux, a Quebec lawyer, worried about environmental issues, took part in the 1993 Earth Summit in Rio de Janiero . With fellow young environmentalists he founded Équiterre, originally known as ASEED. He has raised awareness and created different ways to change the world. * Pierre Morency set up Nova Envirocom, convinced that there were simple solutions to the complex problems surrounding residual materials. They distribute compostable tableware and food packaging made from bioplastics using agricultural produce such as corn and potatoes which may be unfit for consumption.
