There are some very unusual plants in the world. In Sumatra we see a tropical pitcher plant, which digests insects, lizards, spiders and worms in its liquid filled cup and hosts carpenter ants. The rare, huge corpse flower has a powerful stink. The flower of the elephant-foot yam also smells like a corpse but some people eat it as a vegetable. In Australia, the strangler fig steals nutrients and kills its host tree.
