Using 3-D animated sequences plus live-action video, program takes viewers on a tour of the digestive system from ingestion through elimination. Follow a young teen first seen eating an apple, who then suddenly finds himself in a video game environment where his body becomes a 3-D demonstration of the digestive system in action. As the apple goes through the digestive system-first in the mouth and then through the esophagus, small intestines and large intestines-the biology and biochemical processes are explained. Explores the break down of proteins, fats and carbohydrates and shows how different enzymes and acids interact to convert food into molecules that the body can use for energy.
