For young adults, it is easy to fall into the trap of believing that love equals sex. At the same time that many teens are struggling to learn what it means to be in a healthy, intimate relationship, they are also bombarded by messages in the media implying that sex is the pinnacle of love. This video explores these simple yet profound issues: How does a person express love? What is a crush? What is an obsession? Is a sexual relationship a necessary part of being "in love?" How are feelings of self-worth connected to love and loss of love? How do you maintain your sense of self when you are "in love"? By following actual teenage relationships as they develop and by interviewing a variety of young people about their feelings and experiences, your students will gain insight into the complex issues of love and sex.
