Why is the period of early adulthood often referred to as the "prime of life"? Our program begins with a broad overview of what happens to the body physically during this phase. Strong, understanding adult mentors and role models are critically important as boys and girls learn what it means to become men and women. We discuss the ways in which teachers and parents can effectively continue to relate to and guide the youngsters in their care as they embark on this new stage of life. Also explored is the issue of aging, which begins almost imperceptibly during young adulthood.
