According to Statistics Canada, more than half of Canadian women have been victims of at least one act of physical or sexual violence since the age of 16. This startling fact comes to life in Deepa Mehta’s candid film about the secret world of domestic violence. In this cleverly crafted film, we meet three immigrant women and their families.
